We're having a................

GIRL!!!!! I can hardly believe it! I was shocked to actually be right (if that makes any sense). Jed had guessed our new little one was a boy and I had guessed girl. I really thought I was right but at the same time, Jed has been right the last two times so I thought I was destined to be wrong. But at the ultrasound we found out that she is definitely a girl!

Kolby and Max are so excited. Kolby has been convinced that she was a girl ever since he found out I am pregnant. I am surprised how excited they are to have a little sister. Kolby wants her crib in his room so he can 'take care of her'. He wants to 'hold her', 'kiss her', and 'teach her stuff'. They are going to be such great big brothers to her!

I have to admit that I am much more nervous about having a girl than I would have been about having a boy. I am so used to dinosaurs, trucks, and wrestling I'm not quite sure what to do with a girl! So any tips, great brands or websites, decorating ideas, or just plain advice is welcome! We're so excited!

Boxing

For Christmas, we thought it would be fun to give the boys boxing gloves. The boxing matches provide endless fun for them, and they usually try to get dad in on it too. But during every match, at some point, one or both of them is crying. I'm usually cursing those stupid gloves, but in spite of the injuries the boys both love them and they box all the time.

The Pledge of Allegiance

The Pledge of Allegiance

We've been working on potty training Max lately. We've spent a lot of time singing and reading in the bathroom while he practices sitting on the Elmo potty. So, sorry if this is gross to some of you but it is an accurate portrayal of our life. The Pledge of Allegiance and snack time are the highlight of preschool for Max. (Sorry the video quality isn't very good. I guess I'll have to use the video camera from now on instead of just the camera.)

Tidbits about Jed

I saw this on Summer's blog and thought it would be fun.

This is some random stuff about Jed.

1. Where did you meet?
West Yellowstone, the summer after I graduated high school and 2 weeks after he got home from his mission. Long story. Basically his friends picked up on my friends on the street.
2. How long did you date?
Um... about 6 months
3. How long have you been married?
6 years
4. What does he do that surprises you?
I realize that he is competitive, but sometimes I'm still surprised at how passionate he is about wrestling (and other things too).
5. What is your favorite feature of him?
I love his laugh. It just makes me happy to hear it. And his hands. They are strong and rough and he builds beautiful things. But they are also kind and sweet, holding and blessing our children.
6. What is his best quality?
His passion. Whatever he does, he does his best. He works hard, and he plays hard. He loves life.
7. Does he have a nickname for you? nope
8. What is his favorite food?
That is a tough one. He loves hot wings, steak, and any vegetable except tomatoes.
9. Does he have a favorite sport?
Um, is there anything in life as good as wrestling?
10. Where was your first kiss?
In his pickup, by Elyse's house
11. What is your favorite thing to do together?
Have a movie night with the kids.
12. Do you have any kids?
2 boys - Kolby and Max, and one due in August
13. Does he have any hiddent talents?
He should be a NASCAR driver. Even though I'm a backseat driver, he is really a good driver. And he makes great hamburgers and milkshakes. And the stories he tells the kids are always very entertaining.
14. How old is he? 27
15. Who said I love you first? He did
16. Whats his favorite music? Country probably, and oldies, and rock. I swear he knows every song on the radio (and he belts them out). He converted me to country when we met.
17. What do you admire most about him? His drive to work hard and do his best. He is such a good husband and father. He sets goals for himself and achieves them. He is honest and strong and has integrity.
18. Whats his favorite color? blue
19. Will he read this? Probably not unless I ask him to.

I'm Finally Doing It

Yay! I'm finally starting a blog! I couldn't put it off any longer; I've needed to do this for a long time. I love reading about all of you so here you go. Our life isn't very exciting but this will be fun anyway.
I'm just going to post a random sampler about what we've been up to lately.

The boys made Valentines for their preschool friends.

The funnest part about going to state wrestling is swimming at the hotel...

and wrestling like the 'big boys' out on the mat.

We had such fun at Gracee's birthday party. We had lunch at Artcic Circle, played on the toys and had cake and ice cream.

We've spent some fun weekends at the cabin with Grandma and Grandpa Hathaway. This is Kolby and Max and Uncle Spencer snowmobiling. It was a freezing day but we had fun.

Here is my brother Mitch at his basketball game. He is awesome! What a rebounder. It helps that he is 6'6" and has go-go-gadget arms. His team is going to State this week. Go Bobcats!!

This is an old picture - from Christmas break, but I can't resist putting in a picture of the boys playing the Wii. It has definitely been a hit! And Bethany is in it (and a little of Marianna)!

Haircut time!! I love it that Jed cuts the boys hair and it always looks so good (plus its free!) It's not fun to be itchy though, and Max says that getting his hair cut 'drives him crazy'.

Here are the boys looking handsome in their church clothes. Kolby likes to 'look like dad' in his new suit.
